Biography
Dr. Adel K. El-Naggar is a Professor and Section Chief of Head and Neck Pathology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. El-Naggar is the also the Director of the Head and Neck Pathology Fellowship. He received his M.D. degree from the Ein-Shams School of Medicine, Cairo, Egypt and research and pathology training at Vanderbilt and Case Western-Reserve University in Nashville and Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. El-Naggar is anEditor-in-Chief of the Head and Neck Oncology Journal and amember of several editorial boards of pathology, oncology and head and neck medical journals. He is also a member of national and international committees and cooperative groups in head and neck tumors. Dr. El-Naggar has authored and co-authored 610articles, 55 editorials and 10 book chapters on pathology of the head and neck. His main research efforts are focused onmolecular genetic characterization of head and neck and salivary carcinomas and biomarker integration in clinical management of patients with these tumors.
